Hotel Harder-Minerva was built in 1890/91 by the Horn brothers, founders of the historic Horn Brewery, at a cost of CHF 110,000. At the time, Interlaken was experiencing a golden age of tourism, one that was sadly interrupted by the outbreak of the First World War in 1914.

The architecture of the hotel is inspired by the style of a French aristocratic townhouse, with elegant classical features that reflect the historicist style of the era. Its façade is adorned with refined vertical pilasters, graceful cornices, and a distinctive mansard roof. The entrance itself carries the charm of timeless design.

Inside, the building retains much of its original detail, including a richly decorated restaurant featuring intricate stucco work and beautiful partition walls with colored glass inlays.
